Magway (Burmese: မကွေးမြို့; MLCTS: ma. kwe: mrui., pronounced [məɡwé mjo̰]) is the capital city of Magway Region (formerly Magway Division) of Myanmar, and situated on the banks of the Irrawaddy River.
