Karataş (Turkish for black stone) is a municipality and district of Adana Province, Turkey.[2] Its area is 862 km2,[3] and its population is 23,499 (2022).[1] The town itself has 10,293 inhabitants.[4] It is on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, 47 km from the city of Adana, between the rivers Seyhan and Ceyhan, the Pyramos of Antiquity.
