Joseph Levis (July 20, 1905, in Boston, MA – May 20, 2005) was an American foil fencer. He won nine national fencing championships, and participated in three Olympic Games representing the United States.[1] The Roll of Honor at the US Fencing Hall of Fame (USFA) credits his individual Olympic silver medal in foil (1932) as the finest accomplishment ever by an American fencer and his victory in the 1954 nationals, after a 16-year layoff from competition, as the greatest comeback in the history of American fencing.[1]
