Ika people

The Ika people are an indegious group found primarily in Delta State & Edo State, Nigeria. The Ika people have just two(2) Local Governments; Ika South and Ika North East Local Government Areas of Delta State, and Igbanke and Ekpon areas of Orhionmwon, Uhunmwonde and Igueben Local Government Areas in Edo State. The Ikas share ancestorial relation with the present day EDOs, Benin, the Binis in Edo State Nigeria.

They speak the Ika language, often considered by several academic scholars as a dialect of the Edoid language. Ika land has some presence of Igbo merchant migrants who practically cross over the Niger to this area for trade & commerce.
