Summary
DescriptionTamara E. Jernigan Discovery crew.jpg |
English: The Shuttle Discovery and the STS-96 crew made history in May 1999 when they became the first crew and orbiter to visit the International Space Station. Here, the Aegean Sea is the back drop for mission specialist Tamara E. Jernigan as she handles the American-built crane, which she later helped to install on the Station during a May 30 spacewalk. Jernigan's feet are anchored to a mobile foot restraint connected to Discovery's Canadian-built robot arm.
