English: An Association Agreement entitled "Ankara Agreement" which has been extensively negotiated, has been initialled by Hasan Esat Isik, Ambassador of Turkey to Brussels, and President of the Turkish Delegation and Representative of the CEC, and by Günter Seeliger, Director-General of the External Relations DG of the Commission of the EEC. This association was not only based on economic purposes but also on political considerations: Eastern solidarity, peace between peoples and social betterment. |
