Français : Ce voilier de course appelé « Kialoa » et immatriculé à La Rochelle est le « Kialoa IV » appartenant à la série des « Kialoa » (« Kialoa » II à V). Cette famille de voiliers de course a été construite durant les années 1960 à 1980 à la demande de Jim Kilroy, un américain passionné de régates et ayant fait fortune dans le secteur immobilier en fondant la Kilroy Realty Corporation. Le voilier de course « Kialoa IV » est un maxi yacht de 80 pieds (24 mètres) construit en 1979 par Kiwi Yachts en Nouvelle Zélande. Il a été utilisé, entre autres, dans la tragique Fastnet Race de 1979 (décès de 15 participants lors d’ une tempête) et dans plusieurs Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. En 1986, Jim Kilroy a remplacé le « Kialoa IV » par le « Kialoa V » dernier de la série. Par rapport à son aspect original le « Kialoa IV a été repeint d’ une couleur différente (en violé sur la photographie) et le tableau arrière à été modifié par la construction d’ un escalier d’ accès à la mer.
