This linguistic map image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with
{{vector version available|new image name}} .
It is recommended to name the SVG file “German dialectal map.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter. |
Summary
The factual accuracy of this is disputed. There might be relevant discussion on the talk page. |

English: German dialects after 1945, split into:
- Low German
- Central/Middle German (part of High German)
- Upper German (part of High German)
With "Benrath" this map gives the Uerdingen line in the west and the Benrath line in the East:
- Uerdingen line = ik/ich-line (cp. File:Uerdinger und Karlsruher Linie.png)
- Benrath line = maken/machen-line (cp. File:Benrather und Speyerer Linie.png)

It's one thing to make adjustments, it another to completely replace the original image with a different one under the same file name. There's a rule against doing just that.

The previous map is extremely flawed in the course of the two isoglosses.
