Français : L'église de Saint-Jacques fut érigée durant la période 1915-1918. Elle remplace un édifice du début du XIXe siècle qui avait malheureusement été détruit par les flammes en 1914. Le 25 mai suivant, après la bénédiction des cinq cloches qui ornent encore aujourd'hui le clocher, ce faisait l'ouverture aux fidèles pour la première cérémonie religieuse. Tous les éléments architecturaux de l'ensemble de l'église sont inspirés du style néo-classique avec une touche légèrement néo-romane tandis que l'intérieur emprunte le style architectural des Caron de Nicolet. Le bois compose la structure ornementale intérieure, ce qui confère à l'édifice une excellente acoustique. De plus, l'édifice en impose par ses dimensions ; très peu d'églises lui sont comparables. Une œuvre monumentale et majestueuse, sise au milieu d'une vaste plaine et dominant la région immédiate avec ses deux immenses flèches qui crèvent le ciel. |
