Summary
DescriptionConrad Kyeser's Bellifortis c 1405 fig 1.jpg |
English: According to Quarg (1967): A squire is holding the victory bringing iron head of en:Alexander the Great's spear called "Meufaton". The spear was called "Almerio", that he threw to symbolicaly illustrate the occupation of asia to his soldiers before he oversteped the symbolical border. According to medieval symbolic the size of the spear's head shows the increased strength that the brownish painting on the head will transfer to soldiers, when it was painted into the hand of every soldier. The picture in Kyeser's Bellifortis shows the psychological influence of symbolic icons to the fighting strength of soldiers, when transferred by picture.
