ID#: 6803 Description: This image shows chancres on the penile shaft due to a primary syphilitic infection caused by Treponema pallidum bacteria. It appears at the spot where T. pallidum bacteria entered the body, and lasts 3-6 weeks, healing on its own. Content Providers(s): CDC/M. Image title | STDs - Syphilis
Syphilis - Clinical - Penis Syphilis. Surprisingly, these lesions were all darkfield positive and culture negative for herpes virus. This once again shows us the variability of early syphilis. 8/78 VD, M. Rein 3998-78T, Box 6.7AA |
