Mr. Curiale was guest conducting the Lincoln Civic Orchestra while the main director of the orchestra, Dr. Sam Zitek was up for tenure, so Nebraska Wesleyan asked him to get his Ph.D., so he took a semester off to finish his requirements for his Ph.D. and has received it.
