(Aug. 8, 2003) – Army OH-58 Kiowa Warrior helicopters assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division from Fort Bragg, N.C., are shrink wrapped and ready to be loaded onto the Military Sealift Command (MSC) large, medium-speed roll-on/roll-off ship USNS Seay (T-AKR 302), for deployment to Iraq. Twenty-five percent of all Army combat equipment used in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom was shipped from Naval Weapons Station Charleston, the home of the Army's 841st Transportation Battalion and historically the busiest port in the Transportation Command.
