Purpose of use |
To illustrate a poignant scene in the episode (infobox). The sequence in which Hawkes rips his heart out was created by using a rubber heart. The fact that the faux blood begins leaking through his shirt was added to "hide the fact that [they crew was] doing a little sleight of hand", according to the commentary. The beating of the hearts of Naciamento's victims was created via a pump that was operated off-screen. This is expanded upon in the production section of the parent article. |
