Spamton G. Spamton is a side character and hidden boss in Deltarune Chapter 2. He is a personified spambot, speaking in cryptic and nonsensical English and having his sentences interrupted by marketing phrases and non sequiturs. Spamton is a once highly successful, now desperate salesman constantly asking the player to take his shady deal and become a "BIG SHOT". If this deal is taken, Spamton gives you the KeyGen item and becomes Chapter 2's hidden boss, taking on the form of a winged robot being puppeteered by an unknown force. Cutting his strings causes his body to fail on him, with Spamton lamenting his lack of freedom and inability to become more than a puppet. Spamton is the Chapter 2 alternate route's final boss, appearing as a more difficult version of his normal route encounter. Spamton was created by Toby Fox with support from artist Temmie Chang. He resembles a Marionette puppet & ventriloquist dummy, reflecting his ties to freedom.

Spamton has had a universally positive reception for his design, characterization, and both hidden boss fights, becoming a fan-favorite character. His theme, "BIG SHOT", has been recognized favorably as one of the best boss themes in gaming, receiving a multitude of remixes and widespread use as an internet meme. Spamton has been used prominently for Deltarune promotion by Fangamer, receiving more standalone merchandise than any other character in the game.
In September 2022 his likeness was used for a promotional event titled the Spamton Sweepstakes, in which Spamton themed prizes were given out in a campaign to raise money for the charity Child's Play. The official website was themed to look like the internet of the 1990s, with gaudy fonts, poorly rendered clip art, and fake pop-up ads taking the user to secret pages.
Spamton was created by Toby Fox. His design appears to be based on Walt Disney's Pinocchio, sharing features such as a long pointed nose and puppet-like head, proclaiming himself to be a "REAL BOY!" upon having his strings cut. Spamton's speech is erratic and nonsensical, constantly replacing words or phrases with bracketed substitutes (the substitutes often being bizarre or ominous) and speaking for the most part in all capitals. He has the demeanour of a used-car salesman, constantly trying to make a deal with the player for Kris' soul in exchange for them both becoming "BIG SHOTS". He trades in Kromer, a nonsense word for money which fluctuates between value rapidly in his shop. In his NEO form, Spamton bears a strong resemblance to Mettaton NEO, a boss fight exclusive to the Genocide Route of Undertale. The game alludes to the idea that his NEO form is a scrapped design created by Mettaton's Deltarune incarnation, given life in the Cyber World.
Spamton acts as a parallel to Kris in his ties to the concept of freedom, with him trying to relate to Kris through their shared lack of independence. During his fights, he asks Kris if they've "Lost Control Of [their] Life" and if they "WANNA BE A [Heart] ON A [Chain] [their] WHOLE LIFE?", showing an awareness of the fact that Kris is not fully in control of their actions.
Despite no official concept art of Spamton existing, fans have speculated that an unused enemy design found in Undertale's art book could have been an early incarnation of the character.
During a lone detour in Cyber City Kris encounters Spamton, a Darkener resembling the Addisons, living in a garbage bin muttering to himself. Upon noticing Kris, Spamton engages a battle where he tries to convince them to accept his deal to regain control of their life. If this deal is accepted, the player can return to Spamton's shop in the trash zone to purchase the KeyGen item, which Spamton tells Kris to bring to the basement of Queen's mansion. Once the KeyGen is used to deactivate a forcefield in the basement the player finds a robot body sitting near an abandoned railroad. Inside the robot is an empty disk which, when brought back to him, Spamton transfers himself into. Placing the loaded disk back into the robot body transforms it into Spamton NEO, a highly upgraded form based on the body of Mettaton NEO in Undertale. Upon seeing that his new body is held up by puppet strings, Spamton engages in a fight with Kris to steal their soul and gain his freedom. Before he is able to, Ralsei and Susie intervene, initiating his boss fight. The proceeding battle takes place on what appears to be an abandoned railway, with the protagonists being in carts on rails while Spamton glides in front of them on his strings. If the player attempts to cut his strings and set him free, Spamton thanks Kris and attempts to fly away. Once the last string is cut, Spamton falls to the ground, unable to move without help from his puppeteer. If the player lowers Spamton's health to zero, he attempts to transform into the more powerful "Spamton EX", before falling to the ground in much the same way as when spared. After his battle, Spamton laments over the fact that he could never achieve freedom, but hopes that Kris can avoid a similar fate. He becomes either the Dealmaker or Puppet Scarf item upon defeat, depending on if he was spared.
If the player returns to the trash zone after defeating Spamton NEO, Several Addisons appear to tell the player about Spamton's past. He was originally an unlucky and unsuccessful Addison, but was adamant to others that one day he would become a "big shot". At some point he entered contact with an unknown entity over phone calls, who helped him become wildly successful, causing jealousy in the other Addisons. During his success he enjoyed extreme fame, earning television deals and a room in Queen's mansion. At some point the mysterious entity disappeared, causing his career to plummet. After being evicted from the mansion an Addison went to go check on Spamton, but found only a phone hanging off the receiver. The Addison could faintly hear a voice coming from the other end of the phone, but upon putting it to their ear heard "nothing but garbage noise". This mysterious figure is implied to be the same entity that drove Jevil mad, another hidden boss who seems to have more knowledge of the nature of their world than should be possible. It has been theorized that this voice is W. D. Gaster, a hidden character in Undertale and potential character in Deltarune, with the game having many hints towards his involvement.
During the alternate route commonly referred to as "Snowgrave", which can only be achieved by choosing specific dialogue options and freezing all enemies encountered using Noelle's Ice Shock ability, Spamton is first encountered cowering in a garbage bin. He urges Kris and Noelle to get stronger, telling them how many enemies are left to be frozen and promising a reward once they act out his request. Once enough Darkeners have been frozen Spamton gifts Kris the Thorn Ring, an item which greatly increases Noelle's defense and reduces the TP required to perform Ice Shock. Almost all regular obstacles in the mansion are replaced with "Pipis", strange egg like creatures which normally only appear as part of Spamton NEO's attacks. Before the player cans seal the fountain at the end of the chapter, Spamton appears in his NEO form to prevent them from doing so. He explains that the Cyber World is "his", due to the player freezing all other residents and bringing the Queen to Castle Town. Spamton expresses frustration at Kris for their actions, before engaging a battle in an attempt to kill them. Acting as this routes final boss, Spamton NEO becomes a much more difficult fight than usual due to a lack of party members. During the fight Spamton berates Kris for their betrayal, telling them that the only reason they could become so powerful is the ring he sold them. Once his health has been reduced to zero, Spamton boosts his defense, making it impossible to defeat him using regular attacks. Proceeding in the battle is only possible after you call for help from Noelle, who freezes Spamton off-screen, promptly ending the fight.
Spamton has made various cameo appearances in the dreams of Blobabeba Boba.
The Spamton Sweepstakes was a 24-hour charity event held from September 17th to 18th in 2022, themed around Spamton and hosted by Fangamer. The event was created to raise money for Child's Play, a charity organization dedicated to donating toys and games to children's hospitals around the world. Signing up to the event with an optional donation placed your name into a raffle from which various prizes could be won, with most of them connecting to Spamton in some way. Alongside the prize raffle fans could also enter 2 auctions hosted on eBay, for a golden Berdly statue and the Mona Spamton, a Mona Lisa parody featuring Spamton's likeness.
The winners of the Sweepstakes were announced in a livestream on the Fangamer YouTube channel, which was presented as a comedic parody of 1990s infomercials. The stream was led creatively by wayneradiotv, a YouTube and Twitch personality known for bizarre improvisational comedy revolving around video games. He played one of two Spamton impersonators within the livestream, distinguished by their middle intials A. and B. In between the announcements of the winners, the livestream was host to comedic fake advertisements, improvisational skits, and bizarre "analogue comedy". When Spamton A. Spamton attempts to give away a carbine knife the video is interrupted by three Fangamer employees, who had previously appeared in the official Undertale sixth anniversary livestream, explaining to the viewer that what they are seeing is a "fake broadcast" and that the real stream is starting soon. When A. Spamton dismisses them, the "Fangamer Bureau of Intelligence" sabotage the stream and send an unknown creature after him.
