- This category follows the World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions, which defines "southern Chile" as comprising the Aysén Region, Los Lagos Region, and Magallanes Region; and places it within "southern South America".
The World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions does not contain recognise a region called "Chile", because of the country's great floristic diversity.
