She played for the Philippines women's national under-23 volleyball team in the 2019 Women's Volleyball Kor Royal Cup held in Thailand.[1]
Canino missed the UAAP Season 86 volleyball tournaments at the Mall of Asia Arena on April 4, 2024 after injuring her right arm. During the Lady Spikers’ game against UP, she suffered an “accident not related to volleyball” and that she has “no set timeline for return,” Patrice Dabao reported. However, Angel Canino-less La Salle scored a hard-earned 4-set win against UP on April 4, 2024.[2][3]
Personal life
Canino was born in Bacolod to volleyball coach parents.[4] She studied at Bacolod Tay Tung High School then transferred to De La Salle Santiago Zobel School and played in the UAAP juniors volleyball tournament where she was awarded as one-time Seasons MVP, and two-time Best Outside Hitter.[5] She played twice for the national team in 2019 Women's Volleyball Kor Royal Cup and in 2019 ASEAN School Games.[6][7]
She is currently taking a degree in American Studies at De La Salle University.
