3 Body Problem is an American science fiction television series created by David Benioff, D. B. Weiss and Alexander Woo. Based on the Chinese novel series Remembrance of Earth's Past by computer engineer-turned-fiction author Liu Cixin, it is its third streaming series adaptation after the animated The Three-Body Problem in Minecraft (2014–2020) and the Chinese live-action Three-Body (2023), and the first not exclusively in Mandarin. It is named after the first novel in the series, The Three-Body Problem (2008), itself named after the eponymous physics theory.
