The 2024–25 season is Oțelul Galați's 29th season in Liga I, and the second consecutive season since last winning promotion at the end of the 2022–23 Liga II season. In addition to the Superliga, Oțelul will participate in this season's edition of Cupa României.

In preparation for the upcoming season, Oțelul completed a training camp at Vatra Dornei from June 9th to 20th. The team also participated in a subsequent training camp in Austria, held between June 22nd and July 4th in Mönichkirchen.
