Świątek's victory over Anastasia Potapova in the fourth round, which lasted 40 minutes, was the shortest match played at the French Open since the 1988 final between Steffi Graf and Natasha Zvereva. Potapova won ten points in the entire match, the fewest on record in a completed match at the French Open.[3]
Angelique Kerber was vying for a career Grand Slam but lost in the first round to Arantxa Rus.[4]
This tournament marked the final professional appearance of former world No. 11 Alizé Cornet. She lost to Zheng Qinwen in the first round.[5] Cornet was contesting her 69th consecutive major main draw appearance (out of 72 overall appearances), the longest consecutive streak of major appearances by any woman.[6]
Mirra Andreeva became the youngest woman to reach the quarterfinals at the French Open since Sesil Karatantcheva in 2005.[7]
For the first time since the 2012 US Open, all four reigning Grand Slam champions (Świątek, Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff and Markéta Vondroušová) reached the quarterfinals of the same major tournament.
