NHL hockey team season From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 2018–19 Philadelphia Flyers season was the 52nd season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 5, 1967.[3] The Flyers were eliminated from playoff contention on March 30, 2019, after a 5–2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.[4]

After losing five out of six games in the second half of November, general manager Ron Hextall was fired on November 27.[5] Former Minnesota Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher was named his replacement on December 3.[6] After a four-game losing streak two weeks later, head coach Dave Hakstol was fired on December 17 and replaced on an interim basis by Lehigh Valley Phantoms head coach Scott Gordon.[7]
