Als Zapfenrost werden zwei verschiedene Rostpilze bezeichnet:
- Fichtenzapfenrost (Pucciniastrum areolatum, Syn. Thekopsora areolata): Wirtswechsel zwischen Fichte und Gewöhnlicher Traubenkirsche
- Gelber Zapfenrost (Chrysomyxa pyrolae): Wirtswechsel zwischen Fichte und Wintergrüngewächsen
