Krokus blev dannet i Solothurn i 1974 af bassisten og oprindelig forsanger Chris von Rohr og guitaristen Tommy Kiefer. Tidligere vokalist i Eazy Money, Marc Storace indgik i bandet ved udgivelsen af deres Metal Rendez-vousalbum fra 1980.
