Prif destun sanctaidd Iddewiaeth yw'r Tora sydd yn cynnwys datguddiad Duw i genedl Israel, sef yr Iddewon. Gair Hebraeg ydyw a'i ystyr yw "cyfraith". Gan amlaf cyfeirir at y pum testun a briodolir i Moses – Genesis, Exodus, Lefiticus, Numeri, Deuteronomium – sy'n gyfystyr â phum llyfr cyntaf yr Hen Destament yn y Beibl Cristnogol.
