রোমানিয়া দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব ইউরোপের বলকান উপদ্বীপের উত্তর-পূর্ব অংশে অবস্থিত। দেশটির ভেতর দিয়ে বৃত্তচাপের আকারে কার্পেথীয় পর্বতমালা চলে গেছে। রোমানিয়ার এক তৃতীয়াংশ উঁচু পর্বত, এক-তৃতীয়াংশ ছোট পাহাড় ও টিলা এবং বাকী এক তৃতীয়াংশ সমভূমি। কৃষ্ণ সাগরে দেশটির ২৪৫ কিলোমিটার দীর্ঘ উপকূল আছে।
