Акарнанія (грэч. Ακαρνανία) — гістарычная вобласць на заходнім узбярэжжы цэнтральнай часткі Грэцыі, у наш час ном Грэцыі. Абмяжоўвалася з поўначы Амбракійскім залівам, з поўдня — Калідонскім залівам, на ўсходзе, па рацэ Ахелоас межавала з Этоліяй. У моры, каля Акарнаніі размешчаны Ітака, радзіма Адысея, і мноства іншых астравоў. Жыхары Акарнаніі займаліся галоўным чынам земляробствам, вобласць не адыгрывала значнай ролі ў грэчаскай гісторыі. Нягледзячы на прыморскае размяшчэнне жыхары вобласці, у адрозненне ад іншых грэкаў, не захапляліся мараплаўствам. Паводле Апаладора, гарады ў Акарнаніі заснавалі Амфатэр і Акарнан, сыны Алкмеона, навербаваўшы перасяленцаў у Эпіры.
