بحسب تلاته من الاناجيل اتحط اكليل من الشوك على راس يسوع خلال الاحداث اللى سبقت صلبه, و استخدم من اللى خطفو يسوع عشان يسبب ليه الالم و السخريه بسبب ادعائه السلطه. فى القرون اللاحقه تم تبجيل الآثار اللى بيعتقد كتير انها كل او جزء من اكليل الشوك.[1][2][3]
