የሮሜ መንግሥት በታሪክ ኃይለኛና ታላቅ መንግሥት ነበር። ከ750 ዓክልበ. እስከ 476 እ.ኤ.አ. በምዕራብ ኦዶዋከር እስካሻረው ድረስ ቆየ። በምሥራቅ ግን ተከታዩ ቢዛንታይን መንግሥት እስከ 1453 እ.ኤ.አ. ድረስ ቆየ።
በአፈ ታሪክ ዘንድ፣ መጀመርያው የሮሜ መንግሥት በሮማ ከተማ በ750 ዓክልበ. በተኩላ ጉዲፈቻ በታደጉት ወንድማማች በሮሙሉስና ሬሙስ ተመሠረተ።
እስከ 35 ዓክልበ. ድረስ የሮሜ መንግሥት በይፋ ሬፑብሊክ ሲሆን በ35 ዓክልበ. አውግስጦስ ቄሳር መጀመርያ ንጉሠ ነገሥት ሆነ።
