- Hi Mrtobacco, I am interested in that story at Bambu about the alleged carcinogen scandal, however I can't read Spanish. Did you realize that the link isn't in English? I don't feel that is much appropriate for English Wikipedia, although I suppose it's preferred over no source at all. Also, when I did a Google search, I found no information related to such a scandal involving Smoking in Spain and adding carcinogens to their product. Additionally, I have added a new category to the article. If you feel that "cannabis" and "tobacco" are relevant, please add them to the article rolling papers. Thanks. - GilliamJF 18:52, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
Mr T really isn't around much these days for various reasons, so he apologizes if messages are not responded to in a timely fashion. |
Sorry that you no comprende but my wife is Mexican so I've learned quite a bit in the past 25 years!! In terms of confirming the Bambu/Smoking thing I have read 5 articles so far and all say the same thing dude.

And there is a lot more out there too. I think the problem is "Esparto" which causes like "Esparto gas" which is possibly filled with toxins. I've never heard of anyone using Esparto in their paper before. Usually it's flax, hemp, rice, and pulp. Here is something from 1996 in Spain that says Esparto causes problems; http://www.amat.es/convenio/circulares/2003/DICIEMBRE/CIRCULAR%20N%C2%BA%20114-03/Circular%20n%C2%BA%20114-03.pdf
- Well, thanks for the further information. What a strange story it is. And the executives at Smoking are facing possible time in prison? I was abroad in Europe and often bought Smoking brand products (extra wide papers) while there. Wow, it's just such a bizzare story. - GilliamJF 22:34, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
