Justin Bieber (/ˈbiːbər/, BEE-bər; born March 1, 1994)[4][5] is a Canadian pop/R&B[1] singer, songwriter and actor. Born and raised on Stratford, Ontario, Canada, he later moved to Atlanta, Georgia pursue a music career with his manager, Scooter Braun who discovered him on YouTube. He then auditioned for Usher who then signed him to a joint venture between he and Braun, Raymond Braun Music Group, and then with L.A. Reid and Island Def Jam.

His debut release, an extended play, My World was released in November 2009, and spawned the hit singles, "One Time" and "One Less Lonely Girl". In addition to receiving positive reviews, it reached number one in Canada, and in the top five of the United Kingdom, and United States, and was certified Platinum in multiple regions. His first full studio release, My World 2.0 was released on March 2010, receiving positive reviews and was topped the charts and reached the top ten in several countries. The album spawned the international hit single, "Baby".
Bieber is inspired by R&B and pop legends such as Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder was well as contemporary stars such as Usher, Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo, and Elliot Yamin. Bieber himself is credited along with several contemporaries for the revival of teen pop in the mainstream in the late 2000s. In 2010, Bieber was named one of People 's 100 Most Beautiful People list.
