Sayyid[lower-alpha 1] (UK: /saɪɪd, ˈseɪjɪd/, US: /ˈsɑːjɪd/;[6][7][8] Arabic: سيد [ˈsæjjɪd]; Persian: [sejˈjed]; meaning 'sir', 'Lord', 'Master';[9] Arabic plural: سادة sādah; feminine: سيدة sayyidah; Persian: [sejˈjede]) is an honorific title of Hasanids and Husaynids Muslims, recognized as descendants of the Arab companion Ali through his sons, Hasan ibn Ali and Husayn ibn Ali.[10] Known for their leadership roles, valour, fearsome warriors and religious roles. They are a Clan belonging to Bannu hashim Tribe of Arabic peninsula.
