Shinar (/ˈʃaɪnɑːr/ SHY-nar; Hebrew: שִׁנְעָר, romanized: Šīnʿār; Septuagint: Σενναάρ, romanized: Sennaár) is the name for the southern region of Mesopotamia used by the Hebrew Bible.
