Narcís Monturiol

Narcís Monturiol i Estarriol (Catalan pronunciation: [nəɾˈsiz muntuɾiˈɔl i əstəriˈɔl]; 28 September 1819 – 6 September 1885) was a Catalan inventor, artist and engineer born in Figueres, Catalonia. He was the inventor of the first air-independent and combustion-engine-driven submarine.
