Jean-Baptiste Bory de Saint-Vincent

Jean-Baptiste Geneviève Marcellin Bory de Saint-Vincent[n 1] was a French naturalist, officer and politician. He was born on 6 July 1778 in Agen (Lot-et-Garonne) and died on 22 December 1846 in Paris. Biologist and geographer, he was particularly interested in volcanology, systematics and botany. The standard author abbreviation Bory is used to indicate this person as the author when citing a botanical name.[3]
