Haskell Stakes

This article is about the annual event inaugurated in 1968 and run through 1980 as the Monmouth Invitational Handicap, from 1981 to 2005 as the Haskell Invitational Handicap, and from 2006 to 2019 as the Haskell Invitational Stakes. The Haskell Stakes is a Grade I American Thoroughbred horse race for three-year-olds run over a distance of 1+1⁄8 miles on the dirt held annually in July at Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport, New Jersey. The event is a signature event at Monmouth Park during their summer racing season and a major race for three-year-olds in between the U.S. Triple Crown series and the Breeders' Cup. The event currently offers a purse of US$1,000,000.
