Summary
DescriptionThe Govan Angel - geograph.org.uk - 1012729.jpg |
English: The Govan Angel. This gilded angel stands on the pavilion roof of the Angel Building (shown at 1114370 and built c.1890, Bruce and Hay). It is generally referred to as the Govan Angel (although it is technically located within Kinning Park rather than Govan). The identity of the sculptor is unknown, but James Ewing is a likely contender [Ray McKenzie, "Sculpture in Glasgow - an illustrated handbook"]. |
