Summary
DescriptionQal'at Salah ed-Din aka Sahyun Castle donjon left ditch right 4110.jpg |
English: One of some pictures in the ditch that defended the castle at the east side, high above it there is the donjon, the last defense part. The ditch was probably deepened, but not originally dug, by the Crusaders, the Byzantines, who kept the fort before, had done most of the work. There is a 28 meters high free-standing piece of rock that supported a draw bridge once, often called "the pinnacle". |
