English: A species of Tadpole shrimps (Notostraca), Lepidurus apus, living in temporarily water-filled pools. Length of this specimen: about 2.5 cm / 1 inch (incl. furca of the tail).
Deutsch: Der Schuppenschwanz, Frühjahrs-Rückenschaler oder Frühjahrs-Schildkrebs (Lepidurus apus) ist ein sogenannter "Urzeitkrebs", der im Frühjahr in kurzzeitig wasserführenden (astatischen), besonnten Überschwemmungs- bzw. Qualmwassertümpeln von Flussauen auftreten kann (vgl. Habitatfoto unten) — allerdings ist die Art ziemlich selten geworden. Länge dieses Exemplares: ca. 2,5 cm inkl. Schwanzfäden (also ein eher kleines Individuum; mögliche Maximallänge von Lepidurus apus: 5 cm). Ein morphologisches Unterscheidungsmerkmal zum recht ähnlichen Sommer-Rückenschaler (Triops cancriformis) ist das Vorhandensein einer zungenförmigen (hier grünlichen) Platte zwischen den Schwanzanhängen. Gemeinsam mit dem Schuppenschwanz findet man oft den Feenkrebs Eubranchipus grubii, der ansonsten aber auch schattigere Tümpel besiedelt. |
