中文:坎培拉的州徽是應澳洲聯邦的國防部要求,在坎培拉人造城完工之前,向聯邦國境內全體國民公佈坎培拉州徽設計競賽的結果,所創建、設計、製作,並送往倫敦,向王室呈報;被英國內閣會議通過;核准使用,並由皇室授權是可以代表地方性的標誌及徽章圖騰。 盾牌最上方的皇冠;象徵著皇家的權威。 盾牌中的權杖;象徵著澳大利亞聯邦國會的統治權力。 盾牌中的劍;象徵著尚方寶劍執法的權威。 盾牌中的一個城堡和三個塔,象徵著政府的三個分支(行政,立法和司法)。 盾牌中城堡下的花朵,是誰都看不出來的白玫瑰花。 白玫瑰花是為了當時1927年,英國約克公爵離開前澳大利亞聯邦舊國會的紀念標誌。約克公爵後來被加冕為英王喬治六世。 盾牌加冕鐵閘門,象徵著英國威斯敏斯特宮中傳統國會立法機關(議會)。 吊閘後面是一棵尤加利樹;又稱橡樹,長在綠草如茵的地上,代表坎培拉是不斷在成長,欣欣向榮的一個城市。 黑天鵝;是代表澳大利亞的土著,白色疣鼻天鵝;代表歐洲和在澳大利亞定居的白人,兩隻鵝各抬一隻腳支撐盾牌,代表土著和白人的共同支持的意思。 盾牌最下方的金帶上的銘文是“為皇后,法律和人民”,這句話;不是來自皇室或官方,而是一個祖籍蘇格蘭,居住在太河附近的一戶民家,在所捐贈的古董物件上的座右銘。 |
