John C. Bankett should redirect here
John C. N. Bankett was a newspaper editor, columnist and politician in Indiana. He edited the Indianapolis World.[1]
In 1924 he was the first African American to be nominated by the Democrat Party for a seat in the Indiana General Assembly.[2][3] The Indianapolis Recorder published his photo in 1937.[4] In 1938 he wrote an article titled "The European Situation".[5] In 1958 he was a congressional candidate.[6]
