Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) is a rank used by several police forces in the Commonwealth and formerly in the British Empire. The rank is usually below assistant superintendent superintendent. This rank is also known as Assistant commissioner of police in Metropolitan cities. In the insignia of this rank three white stars are on the shoulder without any red or blue stripe and directly state name is written below the stars.
