Метою філософії є логічне роз'яснення думки. Філософія не є науковою дисципліною, а діяльністю. Філософське діло складається грунтовно з пояснень. Результатом філософії не є «філософські твердження», а вияснення тверджень. Філософія повинна вчинити непрозорі і розмиті думки ясними та визначити їм гострі межі.
