Jean-Marc Vallée OC OQ (March 9, 1963 – December 26, 2021) was a Canadian movie and television director, writer and editor. He was born in Montreal, Quebec. His career began in 1985. His movies Dallas Buyers Club (2013) and Wild (2014) were nominated for Academy Awards. In 2018, he won an Emmy Award for directing the television series Big Little Lies.
