The Two Sisters (Squamish: Ch'ích'iyúy Elx̱wíḵn) are a pair of pointed peaks (West Sister 1,646 m (5,400 ft);[1] East Sister – 1,606 m (5,269 ft))[2] along the North Shore Mountains in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. They are visible from most of the Metro Vancouver area, from as far south as Surrey to the western Howe Sound Islands and the Sunshine Coast. From the late 19th century, European settlers referred to the mountains as The Lions, with the name inherited by the Lions Gate Bridge (and by extension, the Lionsgate entertainment company), the settlement of Lions Bay and the BC Lions CFL football team.
