IBM PC 5 1/4 inch Diskette Drive shown with a DOS 1.1 diskette. This drive was used with the original IBM PC, Model 5150. This drive was an OEM version of the Tandon TM100-2A (171172-001). It was double sided with 40 tracks. The date tag is Dec 13 1983. There is an IBM CORP. tag with B1437164. With IBM DOS 1.1, it would hold 327,680 bytes (320K). DOS 2.0 increased that to 360K bytes. The photo by Michael Holley, July 2007. Taken with a Canon PowerShot A630 (1/10 second and f/8) under tungsten lighting. The image was touched up with Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0. |
