Draft:Conquest of Devgiri
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The major invasion of Devgiri was led by Malik Kafur, an important general of the Delhi Sultanate. He spearheaded this expedition with the aim of permanently conquering Devgiri. Previously, this task had been undertaken by Sultan Alauddin Khalji, but the Yadavas of Devgiri had rebelled against the Delhi Sultanate and declared their independence. Despite initial subjugation, the Yadavas repeatedly rebelled against the sultanate. As a result, Malik Kafur launched this campaign in order to permanently pacify Devgiri.
